Harold S. Perlmutter, MD, FACS

Dr Harold S Perlmutter | Ophthalmologist | Sussex County | NewtonHarold S. Perlmutter, MD, FACS, a native of Brooklyn, New York, graduated cum laude from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York in 1960. Graduating near the top of his class at Chicago Medical School/University of Health Sciences, he went on to complete a prestigious medical internship at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Perlmutter's academic ophthalmology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine was followed by his appointment as clinical assistant instructor in ophthalmology.

From 1968 to 1970, Dr. Perlmutter served in the US Air Force, achieving the rank of captain and holding the position of chief of the ophthalmology service at USAF Hospital, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.

In July of 1970, he joined Eye Physicians of Sussex County and is a full attending physician at Newton Memorial Hospital. A multiple recipient of the Physicians Recognition Award for his conscientiousness in continuing education, Dr. Perlmutter is a Board-Certified fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons.

David M. Inkeles, MD, FACS

Dr David M Inkeles | Ophthalmologist | Sussex County | NewtonBorn in New York City, David Inkeles, MD, FACS, graduated magna cum laude from Yale University. He then served in the US Army as an assistant professor of Military Science. This was followed by a successful career as a commodity broker for E.F. Hutton & Co. in New York. He attended medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. After serving an internship at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California, he took an academic ophthalmology residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City.

In 1976 Dr. Inkeles joined Eye Physicians of Sussex County, where he has enjoyed a successful practice in ophthalmology that includes surgical operations at the practice's ambulatory surgical center.

Board-Certified fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Inkeles continues to further his education by attending conferences in Europe and the United States on a regular basis.
